This policy explains what information Tripclip collects, why, and how you can control it. Tripclip is a travel-planning app: it helps you save places from screenshots and videos, plan trips, track receipts and bills, and get nearby recommendations.
Account details — your name and email when you sign up. Trip content — the trips, cities, places, notes, and bills you create. Photos and screenshots — images you choose to import so Tripclip can clip places from them, and receipts you photograph for expense tracking. Preferences — currency and distance units.
Service activity — Tripclip records limited feature activity, such as API requests, cache status, place-card views, and when you choose to open a place in Maps. This is linked to your account so we can operate the service, monitor usage limits, and improve reliability. Tripclip does not use your device's GPS location and does not run third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. Nearby recommendations are based on the home city you choose in the app, not your real-time location.
To operate core features: saving your trips and places, scanning receipts, and syncing your data across your devices. To process the screenshots, videos, and receipts you submit using AI (Google Gemini) so Tripclip can extract place details, itinerary info, and bill amounts automatically. To show nearby recommendations based on the home city you set. To respond when you contact us for support.
Tripclip uses a small number of service providers to run the app, and shares only what each one needs to do its job: Supabase, which hosts our database, authentication, and file storage; Google Gemini, which processes the images, videos, and text you submit so the app can extract structured trip data; Supadata, which fetches the transcript of a YouTube or TikTok link you share so it can be analysed; and the YouTube Data API, used to look up basic video metadata. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with advertisers.
Your data is kept for as long as your account is active. You can permanently delete your account at any time from the app (You → Account → Delete account). This immediately and permanently removes your trips, places, bills, chats, receipts, and any uploaded media — this cannot be undone.
Your data is transmitted and stored using industry-standard encryption. Access to production systems is limited to what is needed to operate the app. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information appropriately.
Tripclip is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information. You can do most of this yourself in the app; for anything else, contact us using the details below.
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
